This ensured that when the corrector disks were empty, they would be correctly spaced so that a potato would come up at a regular distance from each other. It was operated by a person who ran beside the machine to set the height and ensure that the two corrector discs remained filled with potato potatoes. It was supplied on iron wheels.

The Captain potato planter is a tractor implement which plants potatoes in a single row, making it ideal for small and medium sized fields. Its injected poly hopper holds the seed potatoes, and a vertical chain conveyor of poly cups lifts them individually to be deposited behind the shovel that makes the furrow. Its rear bedder discs adjust the height of the furrow and can also be adjusted to hill the potatoes.
